Sherry DeAnn Hurnes an actress and writer stated, “I am committed to researching and writing the script for Rosa Parks I want to tell her truth”. Sherry Hurnes is playing a lead role in #WEWOKE the play. #WEWOKE the play consist of stories of leading pioneers that changed the facet of America as well as stories that details of equality, diversity and racial struggles in America.
Sherry Hurnes has created a dynamic script as she portrays the mother of the civil rights movement in #WEWOKE the play. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man in Montgomery Alabama on December 1st, 1955. This launched the Montgomery Bus Boycott her resistant on that day embarked the awakening of the civil right movement. What were the reasons that lead up to the refusal of giving up her seat on this day? What were some of Rosa Parks obstacles?
There is no meekness here. Sherry shows courage, dignity and grace as Rosa Parks tell her story of her conscience and how she refused to submit to unjust Jim Crow laws of segregation. #WEWOKE the play displays power through challenges, obstacles and strengths.
